The Process
This project site posed several challenges to Aspen’s landscape design team. First, the client requested a vinyl liner sport pool be installed with limited access and in a tight area due to easements and existing site elements. Second, the client’s wish-list included incorporating existing elements like a masonry fireplace and concrete patio. Lastly, the extensive design needed to make the new elements feel like they had been part of the house since day one.
The Solution
Aspen’s design team knocked it out of the park by placing the pool at an angle to sit in the backyard comfortably and surrounded it with a gently textured paver pool deck. A masonry bar and outdoor kitchen were designed under a cedar roofed structure which connected to the existing fireplace. Materials matched the existing fireplace and roof pitches match the house. Finally, matching house colors and grade changes within the living spaces preserved existing elements and created for a nice, rustic elegant feel.
