The client’s wish-list included incorporating existing elements like a masonry fireplace and concrete patio. Aspen’s design team knocked it out of the park by placing the pool at an angle to sit in the backyard comfortably and surrounded it with a gently textured paver pool deck.

Suburban Retreat

For this project, the homeowners wanted to add a composite deck with a roofed structure for additional living space where they could grill and entertain. Creating harmony with the existing architecture was a goal as well as giving the space a cozy feel.

Intimate Entertaining

Aspen’s design team created a space large enough to comfortably accommodate the large family and many guests to a cookout or birthday party while still feeling like they were in an intimate space. Retaining walls are used sparingly and also serve as steps or seat walls. Natural stone boulder retaining walls help soften the look and feel of the backyard.
